Terms and conditions
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of nationalcarstorage.com.au (the "site") and to any enquiry, quote request or call-back request you submit through it. "We", "us" and "National Car Storage" mean the operator of the site. By using the site or submitting a form you agree to these terms.
2. What we do
National Car Storage is a free service that recommends places to store a vehicle. We take your details, work out which storage options may suit your car, location, budget and timeframe, and put you in touch with a suitable storage provider or contact you ourselves. We do not guarantee that a particular space, price or service will be available. Any storage agreement is made directly between you and the storage provider, and the provider's own terms apply to it.
3. Information we collect
When you submit a form we collect the details you give us, such as your name, mobile or phone number, email address, suburb and postcode, vehicle details, storage preferences, notes and any photos you upload. We also record the IP address of your device. If you allow it, we also collect your approximate location (worked out from your IP address) and, if you choose to share it, your device's precise location.
4. How we use and share your information
We use your information to understand your storage needs, to recommend storage options, to contact you, and to run and improve the site and our services. We may share your details with storage providers, partners and service providers who help us find or arrange storage for you, so that they can contact you. We do not sell your personal information to unrelated third parties.
5. Your consent to be contacted, including marketing
By submitting a form and keeping the consent box ticked, you agree that we, and the storage providers and partners we pass your details to, may contact you:
- by phone call and SMS on the mobile or phone number you provided;
- by email on the email address you provided; and
- about your enquiry, your quote or call-back request, and about car storage, vehicle care, insurance and related products and services that may interest you (including marketing).
This consent applies even if your number is listed on the Do Not Call Register, because you have asked us to contact you. You confirm that the number and email address you provide are yours, or that you are authorised to give them to us.
6. Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Reply STOP to any SMS, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or tell us on any call that you do not want to be contacted again. We will act on your request promptly. Withdrawing consent does not affect any storage arrangement you have already made.
7. Location and the traffic counter
With your permission, the site asks your browser and our location service where you are so it can suggest your suburb. You can say no and type your suburb and postcode yourself, and you can correct any suggestion. We use third-party services to turn an IP address or coordinates into a place name, and our server makes those requests. The site also keeps a simple page-view counter that records how many times each page is viewed; it does not store personal information. Your browser may store a small note of your location choice so we do not keep asking.
8. Privacy and security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting us through the call-back form on the site. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9. Using the site
Information on the site is general in nature. Check any storage provider's insurance cover, security and conditions before you store a vehicle, and confirm that your own motor or specialist vehicle policy covers storage at the chosen location. Do not misuse the site, submit false details, or attempt to interfere with its operation.
10. Limits of our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss or damage arising from a storage arrangement between you and a provider, or from your reliance on information on the site. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time by publishing the new version on this page. Your continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts.
